Why do I get hard braking alerts when parking?
Hard braking alerts during parking maneuvers are filtered out by requiring a minimum speed threshold.
The app ignores hard braking and acceleration events when the vehicle is moving slower than approximately 3 mph (5 km/h). This prevents false alerts from:
- Parking lot maneuvers
- Backing into a parking space
- Pulling into a garage
- Stop-and-go traffic at very low speeds
How it works:
The driving behavior detection system only triggers when:
- The vehicle is traveling above the minimum speed threshold (3.2 mph / 1.43 m/s)
- The deceleration exceeds the configured sensitivity level
If you’re still getting false alerts:
Try adjusting the sensitivity level for your driving behavior rule:
- Go to Rules > Driving Behavior
- Change sensitivity:
- High (-2.5 m/s²) - Most sensitive, may catch normal hard stops
- Medium (-4.0 m/s²) - Balanced, recommended for most users
- Low (-6.0 m/s²) - Only aggressive braking, fewest alerts
Note: Accident detection is separate and works even when parked (to catch hit-and-run incidents). If you’re getting false accident alerts while parked, adjust the accident detection sensitivity instead.
