Why didn't I get an alert for a second speeding incident?

Rules have a cooldown period to prevent notification spam from repeated triggers.

When a rule is triggered (like speeding or hard braking), there’s a default 5-minute cooldown before the same rule can trigger again for the same vehicle.

Why cooldowns exist:

  • Prevents dozens of alerts during a single speeding episode
  • Reduces notification fatigue
  • Ensures alerts remain meaningful and actionable
  • Saves battery on both your phone and vehicle

How it works:

  1. You exceed the speed limit and receive an alert
  2. For the next 5 minutes, additional speed violations won’t trigger new alerts
  3. After 5 minutes, the next violation will trigger a new alert

This applies to:

  • Speed limit alerts
  • Hard braking alerts
  • Hard acceleration alerts
  • Accident detection
  • Curfew violations (once per curfew period)
  • Geofence alerts

Note: The cooldown is per rule, per vehicle. If you have multiple vehicles or multiple rules, each has its own independent cooldown timer.
