Why didn't I get an alert for a second speeding incident?
Rules have a cooldown period to prevent notification spam from repeated triggers.
When a rule is triggered (like speeding or hard braking), there’s a default 5-minute cooldown before the same rule can trigger again for the same vehicle.
Why cooldowns exist:
- Prevents dozens of alerts during a single speeding episode
- Reduces notification fatigue
- Ensures alerts remain meaningful and actionable
- Saves battery on both your phone and vehicle
How it works:
- You exceed the speed limit and receive an alert
- For the next 5 minutes, additional speed violations won’t trigger new alerts
- After 5 minutes, the next violation will trigger a new alert
This applies to:
- Speed limit alerts
- Hard braking alerts
- Hard acceleration alerts
- Accident detection
- Curfew violations (once per curfew period)
- Geofence alerts
Note: The cooldown is per rule, per vehicle. If you have multiple vehicles or multiple rules, each has its own independent cooldown timer.
