Is Tesla Premium Connectivity required?

No, Tesla Premium Connectivity is not required for Sentry Driver.

Sentry Driver connects to your Tesla through Tesla’s Fleet API, which works independently of Premium Connectivity. Your vehicle just needs basic cellular connectivity (included with all Tesla vehicles) to report driving data.

You’ll get:

  • Real-time driving alerts
  • Trip history and tracking
  • Driving score calculations
  • All monitoring features

All of this works whether or not you have Tesla’s Premium Connectivity subscription.
