How does Sentry Driver know when my teen is driving vs. me?
Sentry Driver uses Bluetooth to detect when your phone is present in the car.
Here’s how it works:
- During setup, you pair the Sentry Driver app with your phone’s Bluetooth
- When you’re in the car with your phone, the app detects your presence
- When your phone is detected, monitoring is automatically disabled
- When your phone is not detected (your teen is driving), monitoring is enabled
This means you don’t need to remember to toggle anything on or off - the app intelligently knows who’s behind the wheel based on whether your phone is present.
What if I leave my phone at home?
If you drive without your phone, the app will think your teen is driving and you may receive alerts. This is rare, but you can easily dismiss false alerts in the app.
