How do I set up Sentry Driver?

Setting up Sentry Driver takes just a few minutes.

  1. Download the app from Google Play (iOS coming soon)

  2. Connect your Tesla account - tap “Connect with Tesla” and sign in directly on Tesla’s website. We use Tesla’s official OAuth system and never see your password. Your Sentry Driver account is created automatically when you authorize.

  3. Grant permissions - approve access to vehicle information (required) and optionally vehicle location for maps and geofencing

  4. Select your vehicle - choose which Tesla to monitor from your connected vehicles

  5. Complete key pairing - if prompted, follow the instructions to pair Sentry Driver with your vehicle for real-time telemetry

  6. Set up owner detection - grant Bluetooth permissions so the app knows when you’re driving (requires your phone to be set up as a Tesla key)

  7. Configure your rules - set speed limits, curfew times, geofences, and other monitoring preferences

That’s it! The app will start monitoring automatically whenever someone else drives your Tesla.
