How do I set up a geofence zone?

Geofences let you receive alerts when your Tesla enters or leaves specific areas like school, work, or home.

To create a geofence:

1. Open Sentry Driver and go to Rules
2. Tap Add Rule and select Geofence
3. Use the map to position your zone:
   • Tap to set the center point
   • Drag the edge to adjust the radius
   • Pinch to zoom the map for precision
4. Configure your alerts:
   • Alert on entry, exit, or both
   • Optionally, only alert when owner is absent
5. Give your zone a name (e.g., “School”, “Work”, “Home”)
6. Save the rule

Tips for effective geofences:

• Size matters: Make the radius large enough to account for GPS accuracy (at least 100 meters recommended)
• Naming: Use descriptive names so alerts are meaningful
• Multiple zones: Create separate geofences for different locations
• Entry vs. exit: Choose based on what you want to know (e.g., “arrived at school” vs. “left school”)

Example use cases:

• Get notified when your vehicle arrives at or leaves a location
• Know when someone leaves home with your Tesla
• Track when the car enters or exits a specific area
• Monitor when your vehicle leaves a designated parking area
