How do I reconnect my Tesla account?
If Sentry Driver loses connection to your Tesla account, you can reconnect through the app settings.
When to reconnect:
- You changed your Tesla account password
- You revoked Sentry Driver’s access in your Tesla account
- You’re seeing “Tesla account disconnected” errors
- Vehicles aren’t showing up or updating
To reconnect:
- Open Sentry Driver
- Go to Settings > Tesla Account
- Tap Reconnect or Sign in with Tesla
- You’ll be redirected to Tesla’s secure login page
- Enter your Tesla credentials and approve access
- Return to Sentry Driver - your vehicles should reappear
What permissions to grant:
When connecting, Tesla will ask you to approve specific permissions:
- Vehicle Information (required) - Needed for all features
- Vehicle Location (recommended) - For maps and geofencing
- Vehicle Commands (optional) - Not currently used
Security note:
Sentry Driver uses Tesla’s official OAuth system. We never see or store your Tesla password - you authenticate directly with Tesla, and we receive a secure token that can be revoked at any time.
After reconnecting:
- Your existing rules and settings are preserved
- Vehicles should sync within a few moments
- If issues persist, try logging out and back in to Sentry Driver
